Quickfix Cone flowers

As I said, it was a quick fix, done in about 20 minutes, using soft and oil pastels. Although the 20 days are over, i did think I should upload this. 

Day 20 - Romancing the rain

It's pretty late in the night, but I've worked on this for about three hours, so had to upload. The original is a knife painting by Leonid Afremov. I have recreated it on handmade paper, using brush too in some places. This is the end of my 20 day initiative, as I'll be getting rather busy with academics. But if any new painting gets done, I will post here. Let's hope I get the time for it.

Day 18 - Cityscape, Cloudy night

The inspiration for this was nothing else but the cloudy night sky. Soft Pastels on paper. 

Day 17 - The Guitarist (Knife Painting)

I have just started knife painting, this is my second one, and the one I did on my own, not in painting class, so it's roughish. The original, 'Guitar and Soul' is brilliantly done by Leonid Afremov.  Knife painting is done using palette knives. Oil on canvas. 

Day 16 - At Sea

Saw this in a book. Colour pencil on paper. 

Day 15 - Flowers

I like orchids, and I found a picture of these flowers online, that look like orchids. Oil pastel on paper. 

Day 14 - I got wings!

Water colour on paper, certain highlights on the butterfly with colour pencil. (I was slightly with the newly adopted kittens, so its slightly rough on the edges.)

Day 13 - Forest Glade

Ever since the space painting, I was looking for an opportunity to work on a black background again. A forest glade is an open space in the forest, and due to less trees in that space, there is sunlight coming in, which makes it stand out from the thicket of trees around - thus the black background was perfect. This was done using soft pastels on black paper. 

Day 12 - Little Shoulders

Micro felt tip pen, and water on paper. 

Day 11 - space painting (Nebula)

There are a bunch of youtube videos showing how to paint space using soft pastels. This was done viewing many such videos, and nebula pictures, this does not depict any one nebula. Soft pastels on black chart paper. 

Day 10 - Rocky Beach

Colour pencil on paper. A brush used to spread water on specific parts 

Day 9 - Riverside park in Kashmir

I was running out of ideas for this blog, so a friend suggested I try to recreate the pic he took. You can see it here - http://instagram.com/p/Z0d0rwENzs/ . This was done using poster colours, on 130 gsm paper. I've used coloured pencil for some highlights, as even my smallest brush was toobig for them.
